The Space Between Things
Atoms are mostly empty space.
Everything around you (walls, trees, oceans, your body) is built from structures where the overwhelming majority of volume isn’t solid matter in the way we instinctively imagine it.
Reality doesn’t look the way it feels.
And I think that’s what fascinates me most.
As children, we learn the world through touch. We push our hands against walls.
We hold rocks. We feel the floor beneath our feet and we build an understanding: This is solid.
Right?
